Feature Release - Smart Folders

New plugin alert: Smart Folders. It remembers what you opened recently and lets you search through it in plain english:

Your files, but the ones you actually use

A virtual “Recent” folder appears at the root of your file manager. Open a file, it shows up. Delete it, it disappears. No bookmarks, no starring, no tagging, no 47-step organization system. Just your stuff, sorted the way you decided.

Of course, it works everywhere whether your files live on S3, SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, SMB, and more (including the virtual filesystem!) or accessed through one of our Gateways like the SFTP gateway, your recent files follow you across.

Search like you talk

The real power come when you plug in an AI model and search your recent files with plain english:

It knows the file names, sizes, and when you accessed them. So “large PDFs from last month” actually works.

Works with OpenAI out of the box, or anything that speaks the OpenAI API: Ollama for running models locally, OpenRouter to pick from dozens of providers, or LiteLLM if you want a single proxy in front of everything.

Setup

Toggle it on in the admin panel under features > recent. That’s it for the recent folder. Want AI search? Flip one more toggle, paste an API key, done.

The plugin is open source, grab it on Github.
